泰安旅游经济开发区地处山东省泰安市市区西部，依傍世界自然与文化遗产泰山，是山东省政府批准的省级旅游度假区，泰安市城市总体规划的组成部分，控制面积23.9平方公里。
天平湖是泰山脚下一颗璀璨的明珠，是开发区的核心和最具吸引力的资源条件。湖水面积3平方公里，平均水深7米，最深处达17米。湖水源自泰山山脉丰盛的雨水和溪泉，清澈纯净,碧波粼粼,辉映着开发区的勃勃生机和秀美景色，冬季常有天鹅、灰鹤、野鸭栖息湖面。区内现有旅游服务设施包括公园、乐园、体育休闲、住宿、餐饮、购物等。
开发区总体规划经国际招标，由美国奥玎景观规划设计公司编制，经泰安市政府审批通过。发展定位是泰山风景名胜区的延伸和互补，泰山-曲阜-济南
“山水圣人”旅游圈重要的旅游服务接待基地，以旅游度假、休闲娱乐、民俗商贸、文化体育为主的复合型旅游度假胜地。
总体规划实现对区内土地资源的有序开发利用，综合平衡用地面积与企业投资额、产出效益、建筑密度和容积率，实现土地利用的边际最优化和集约化，既保证旅游项目的高品质，又节约用地。以人为本，合理权衡环境、社会、经济三方面的综合效益，打造风景优美、设施方便、生态环境良好、景观形象和游赏魅力独特、人与自然协调发展的旅游休闲度假区。

泰安旅游经济开发区管理委员会是开发区的管理机构和服务平台，依法行使编制总体规划和发展计划、审批或审核报批区内投资建设项目、规划建设审核报批、土地征用管理等职权。负责组织开展开发区的招商引资工作，宣传推介开发区投资环境、政策法规。开发区享受国家和地方出台的各类优惠政策。管委会下设办公室、经济发展局、规划建设局、计财处。

为加快开发建设步伐，泰安市委市政府成立了专门的旅游经济开发区建设指挥部，由市委常委领导任总指挥，抽调市政府各行政职能部门负责人任成员。

High-Value Visitors Spark High Hopes for Tai’an Tourism
Investment
Tai’an Tourism Development Zone (hereinafter shortened
to TTDZ) sits at the foot of Mt. Tai with a planned area
of 23.9 square kilometers.
Lake Tianping, with all the pure water coming from the
plentiful rain and brooks of the Mt. Tai chains, the
most appealing tourism resources and the core of the
Zone covers a water area of 3 square kilometers. “By
watching the inverted mountain reflection in the lake,
one can feel the merged reciprocal brilliance of the
mountain and the lake”. The verdant and luxuriant
vegetation and fine ecological environment attract
flocks of swans, grey cranes and ducks to winter here
and it is a quiet garden for the human being who wants
to escape from the noisy urban life.
The master plan of the development zone is completed by
Sino-US Outin Landscape Planning Corp. and is approved
by Taian Municipality. It aims at developing a world
class holiday resort that extends and complements Mt Tai
Scenery Resort, a tourism destination in “Mt
Tai-Confucius-Springs ” tourism zone with a complete
multi-functional network of vacational facilities such
as attractions/venues,
entertainment/recreational/amusement amenities. Great
entertainment venues, luxury accommodations and landmark
architecture will strengthen Taian Tourism Development
Zone as a top destination for the high-value consumer.
The master plan emphasizes the proper development of
land resources and balances the land using,
outcoming,building density and plot ratio to realize an
optimal marginal land using and a top quality
development and develop a sustainable, environmental
friendly, harmonious and distinguishable reort.
Taian Tourism? Development Zone Administration is
responsible for making the development plan, evaluating
the projects and their construction plan and land using
plan, is in charge of the investment promotion and
looking to expand incentives for investors who make
substantial new investments in the development zone.
